Scripture reading: Psalm 27

Prayer/praise: Psalm 17:8 (ESV) “Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.”

Key verse: Psalm 27:5 (ESV) “For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.”

Define pavilion: A. “large, stately tent,” from Old French paveillon “large tent; butterfly”, from Latin papilionem (nominative papilio) “butterfly, moth,” in Medieval Latin “tent”; the type of tent so called on resemblance to wings. (Dictionary.com)

B. pavil’yun. L. papilio, a butterfly, and a pavilion.
1. A tent; a temporary movable habitation.
2. In architecture, a kind of turret or building, usually insulated and contained under a single roof; sometimes square and sometimes in the form of a dome. Sometimes a pavilion is a projecting part in the front of a building; sometimes it flanks a corner.
3. In military affairs, a tent raised on posts. The word is sometimes used for a flag, colors, ensign or banner.
4. In heraldry, a covering in form of a tent, investing the armories of kings.

When we find ourselves in the holy of holies the enemy dare not, in fact can’t touch us! Hallelujah! God puts us in the secret parts of His dwelling place.
Our spirit finds refuge in God in times of trouble. Psalm 143:9 “Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; I take refuge in You.” This is so much more than the natural. Our spirit finds refuge.

God wants to hide us in His most secret place. Psalm 31:20 “You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.”

This message actually came to me as I was listing to my playlist and singing along with the song called “You are my hiding place”. This song of course comes from Psalm 32:7 (KJV) “Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah”

Going back to the root word for pavilion the meaning is butterfly. In the prophetic the Lord has used the butterfly usually to resemble new beginnings. So as we come in to God’s pavilion he protects us from the enemy and gives us a new beginning. One of peace that we are kept in the wings of God! Alleluia!

Psalm 18:1-6 (KJV) “I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.’

Declaration: Psalm 61:3 For You have been a refuge for me, A tower of strength against the enemy.” Psalm 68:20 “God is to us a God of deliverances; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death.” Psalm 119:114 “You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word.”

Be encouraged today, and remember to hide in the pavilion of God. Allow Him to refresh you do something new in you!

God bless!

Remember to smile God loves you!
