My Soul Longs for the Courts of the LORD

Scripture reading: Psalm 84

Key verse: “My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.” (Psalm 84:2 ESV)

I present you with the statement of, “How worthy of love is God’s dwelling place, the place in which He is worshipped.” Our souls should long for the courts of the LORD. My question to you today is, “does your soul long for the courts of the LORD?” I mean does your soul truly long for the courts of the LORD. If not, why not? Let’s ask God today to remove those things that stand in the way of us desiring to be in the courts of the LORD? Let’s pursue His presence!

If we take a look back at verse 1 (KJV), “How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!”

Amiable: meaning lovely or worthy of love.

Tabernacles: referring to dwelling place or all the places/divisions of the temple (golden and brazen altars, holy place, the holy of holies, etc…). Everywhere that worship takes place is God’s dwelling place.

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel” (Psalm 22:3).

The bible tells us that God in fact inhabits our praise. Hallelujah! Literally meaning that God is enthroned in our praise! Can we grasp this truth?
Everywhere you go can and should be a place of worship! As prophets (and saints of God) of God we must live a life of worship, we should long to be in His presence! We are to speak the heart, will, mind, and love of the Father. How can this be on a consistent basis without a longing for God’s presence?

John 4:24 (KJV) says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

God is Spirit, and He is omnipresence. Therefore we can come into His courts, His presence wherever we may be and in whatever situation we might be in. Yet it seems sometimes some might procrastinate, or think we got this, or that were in control of the situation.

God has made salvation available to the world; but they must come into His presence to receive this gift. As we come into God’s presence He gives us healing, deliverance, direction, instruction, victory, peace, etc…
We should not put off coming into His presence. Let’s be so in love with His presence that we pursue Him.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16 KJV).”

We have been given this privilege through the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God, and our great High Priest! Let us approach, let us take advantage of this liberty that was given unto us. We come to the mercy seat. Come into His presence where there is grace.

God’s (grace & mercy) favor is literally enthroned in our praise! Do you need grace and mercy today? Could you use some favor in your life today? Do you really want the glory, the fire, the favor? Are we willing to die to our self and spend time building a greater relationship with our great God? Will you set your situation and emotions aside and acknowledge your Creator?

Psalm 119:20 (NASB) “My soul is crushed with longing After Your ordinances at all times.” If we are longing after His presence then we are longing after His ordinances as well. Amen!

Psalm 119:81 “My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.” Do we have such a longing for God’s presence that we will wait in His presence to hear what He is saying?

We must remain humble and hungry for God’s presence! Especially as prophets, are we seeing in the natural and in supernatural realms and dimensions? Are we hearing God’s plans and secrets that He makes available to His Prophets? Are we submitting to spending time in God’s presence?

Sometimes God’s presence has been so overwhelming in my life. Because of this I have sometimes put off getting into His presence when I know I needed healing; I needed an attitude adjustment; I needed His answer: His insight; or I wanted to use the time for something else. We need to be a people who crucify this flesh and die daily to our self. We are spirit beings who must seek and worship God who is Spirit. When we truly seek Him His glory begins to transform us and conform us into the image of Christ.

I declare that we will live behind the veil; we will live in the manifest presence of God. We will receive revelation as the norm. I declare as you let out a shout of praise today that the walls are coming down. That you will go into your season, your time of abundance and supernatural breakthrough. As you align with God is this season you will see the supernatural in many areas of your life. Seek and live in His presence where His fire and weight of His glory is manifested. Hallelujah!

God I want to be so in love with your presence God!!!

God we ask you to remove that which is hindering our longing for your presence on a continual basis. God we want to be so in love with you that we can’t wait to get back into prayer as soon as possible.

Psalm 73:25 “Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.”

God help us to put you first and above everything. God let us be so in love with you that we acknowledge you in every situation and moment in our lives. God you are worthy to be praised! Alleluia!

Remember to smile God loves you!
