Greetings and blessings to you! Welcome back as we take another step on this journey of “Studying The Prophetic”! I want to make sure when I’m sharing it is by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit so that it will bear fruit!
Answer 1: (To the last post’s question)
What are the 9 gifts Paul list in 1 Corinthians?
“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:“
(1 Corinthians 12:8-10)
If these gifts were given to the Church (You and me, the body of Christ) then we should receive them. Just like the gift of eternal life was given unto us and we received it, we can receive these gifts that are given unto us by the Spirit.
What did Paul say we should operate in when using these gifts?
“But covet Earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in inquiry, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part and prophesy in part.”
(1 Corinthians 12:31-13:9)
Love (Charity) is important. Remember part of the character of God is “God is love”! We should not only receive these spiritual gifts, but we should receive them and function (operate) in them in love.
Holy Father help us to grow in grace and love. Thank you Lord for developing us in the prophetic by your grace and in love. Lord continue to open up our understanding of the prophetic for your glory.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
*See you back next time as we look at a few Scriptures and open up some more definitions.
Remember to Smile 🙂 God loves you!
