Testimony Tuesday #3

Will You Let God Help You?

*Excuse my style of writing, but you must understand that I am worshipping God as I begin to write these testimonies!

Scripture says in 1 Peter 1:16:

“Because it is written,

Be ye holy;

for I am holy.”

*God can help you!

I just want to take a moment to lift up the name of JESUS. Please understand that I have to tell someone about this JESUS! There is just something about the name of JESUS! I have to give Him thanks! I have to lift Him up! He saved me! He set me free! He took away the pain I carried around on the inside for so long. He restored my joy. Glory! Glory to God in the highest! I am not going to let the devil or anyone stop me from proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. There is power in the name of JESUS! Hallelujah!

Wow! Why the excitement you might ask? Well there’s this river of life flowing out of me, and it exceeds far beyond this testimony! I will calm down and share something that might seem simple to you, if it is so be it. I find that there is no small thing that the Lord does for me, and therefore I want to give Him thanks!

*The church I was attending at the time of this particular testimony was corporately having a 21 day fast at the beginning of the year. So I decided to be in unity and take part in it. Plus, it’s worth noting that I was desperately desiring this closeness I once had with God. I wanted that again! So day 1, I started praying, reading Scripture, worshipping, etc… Oh yeah, don’t forget smoking cigarettes!

Meanwhile, I remembered I had a book by Smith Wigglesworth. So I started reading it, and when I got to this one particular part it stood out to me. It says (quoting to the best of my remembrance),

“There is a holy seed in me,

and it is impossible for the seed

to produce anything but holy”!

He went on to explain in greater detail about holiness, power, and authority living in me!

As day 2, day 3, and day 4 are going along, I am pondering what the man of God said. Which by the way he explained well and lined it up with Scripture. It’s not that I weren’t taught these things, or that I didn’t know them. All I know is something happened to me on day 4 as I went to smoke a cigarette. I begin to see myself as God sees me. I plucked that cigarette up I’m the air as I went to light it, and said, I’m done! Let me tell you more than quitting smoking cigarettes happened for me that day. A Deliver came and brought deliverance to me. I mean for my soul, my heart, my mind!

I began to believe: there was no sin in me; I’m holy; that Jesus done it all for me; that God’s Word is Truth! There was no longer any condemnation as I was no longer being led by the flesh, but by the Spirit! Once again, I’m saying I began to see myself how God saw me- washed by the Blood of JESUS!

This event re-lit a fire in me, meaning everywhere I go I want to share the name of Jesus! I did go on to share the Gospel, to be a witness, an ambassador for Christ.

This Testimony continues and I ask you all to keep me in prayers as I continue to be used as an instrument to spread God’s love like 🔥 fire!

Prayer:

Let the Gospel of Jesus spread like fire everywhere we go Lord. Help us all to be a witness in Jesus name, Amen!

Remember to Smile 🙂 God loves you!

  1. I love your testimony! I too use to be a smoker, I use to sing on the choir at my church as well as a leader. I was never convicted of smoking until I went to become an intercessor prayer warrior. It was that night that something happen and to this day I can’t explain it.
That whole week I kept hearing the scripture that says” your sins will find you out” Numbers 32:23 23″But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the LORD; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out. At that time I never really knew what that meant. But on this particular Sunday in church I found out exactly what it meant.
It happen during praise and worship, when I went to get my purse my cigs felt out of my purse right into the middle of the isle, people were looking at me when I went to pick them up.
It was that moment that I said today I give you up smokes! The next day I went brought the patch to help me, but on the second day when I put that patch on the Lord said, “No, take it off; you are going to trust me to deliver you from this addiction. You are not going to rely upon a system to help you.
Being obedient to the Lord, I did just that, it has been twenty some years now and I haven’t touched or desired a smoke. I thank God for that deliverance. After I stopped smoking my other sister stopped smoking as well.
When people say that there is nothing wrong with Christians smoking, I tell them it’s a heart decision that each person has to decide. When a person becomes hungry for God one see’s what is not pleasing to the Lord and the their desire will become God’s desire.
    Amen!!!

  3. Wow amazing testimony and I remember thinking at one point in my life that I could still drink alcohol and continue to serve God. Until one day sitting on my couch the Holy Spirit came and lit my soul on fire the next thing I knew I was standing in my kitchen crying and pouring out bottles of wine.
God is so awesome in all of his ways!!!
